Top 6 T.V Fathers

In honor of Father‘s Day, we’re ranking our top 6 fictional t.v dads. They didn’t all raise perfect children or have perfect families, but there is no denying they all possess admirable character traits that anyone should strive for.

Honorable mention: Bill Cosby, Frank Gallagher

Without further ado

#6 Murray Goldberg

Commonly found watching t.v without pants, some may wonder how he was able to make this list. lets Be honest, the Goldberg children are not an easy bunch to raise. 3 children with varying interests from music and karate, to toys, movies and film making, it would be hard for any parent to keep up with it all. Murray makes time and love each child in their own unique way and never tries to force them to be something they are not. Also, having to put up with Beverley everyday shows that he processes the patience of a saint.

#5 Sandy Cohen

Qualified for a high paying law career, Sandy decides to take a less luxurious path and become a public defender. (It doesn’t hurt when your women is bringing home buku bucks) Sandy brings in a troubled teen with little family support of his own. While raising 2 teen boys In affluent Newport Beach, Sandy makes sure they are both grounded and humble. Wether he is dealing with his kids getting into fights, his criminal father-in-law, or his alcoholic/cheating wife, Sandy’s character never falters.

#4 Ned Stark

Gone too soon, but his legacy will live forever. He was only on screen for less then a season of Game of Thrones, but Neds impact can be felt through the remainder of the series. Most characters in this show could easily be tagged as douchebags, none of Ned’s children would ever fall into this category. He even risked his relationship with his wife and took a character hit by claiming his sisters son as his bastard child so that he wouldnt be murdered. I believe he would be proud to learn that since his death, the Stark family now rules the entire world.

#3 Tim Taylor / Mike Baxter

It doesn’t matter if he is raising 3 boys, or 3 girls, this Dad can do it all. His quick wit and unique brand of tough love would make for a great patriarch of any family. You can tell that his children mean more to to him then anything else, even if he doesn’t always show it. His love for his children is truly unconditional, even a teen pregnancy couldn’t affect it.

#2 Coach Eric Taylor

Even with a demanding and time consuming job, coach Taylor always finds time for his wife and kid. However it is his relationship with his players that lands him on this place on the list. I noticed while watching this show that many of players he coaches do not have a father figure at home. Coach Taylor is doing double duty at home and at work. You can really see the impact he makes on these young men throughout the seasons.

#1 Uncle Phil

Phil has a great relationship with his own children, but it’s the relationship ship he has with his nephew will that really sets him apart from the rest. He takes in a West Philladelphia punk and loves him as If he was his own child. His nephew Will grew up without a father and was getting into lots of trouble. Phil taught him how to grow up and be an adult and also how to be loved. Phil could have taken the easy way out, they had the money to send him to a boarding school. He chose tough love and life lessons or using money to make his problems go away. Uncle Phil taught many people what being a father truly was
