In this blog post i am going to select 4 players and decide whether i think they will be a higher or lower rating by seasons end then what they are today. I'll randomly draw the players based on my own bias's so don't be surprised when you see some controversial takes. Without further ado lets begin!
T.J. Hockenson | 77 OVR | Detroit Lions | TE
I don't care if this dude is on a division rival to my favorite team he's going to be a monster and i'm still a little hurt we didn't draft him. He is going to give the #Lions a dynamic they have not had since i can remember and i am excited to see how the #Lions use him this season and moreso to see his productivity. He is going to finish my guess is an 82 or an 83 by seasons end and be a big talker in the NFC for potential rookie of the year but i dont quite see it. Which for Rookie TE's defies convential wisdom but i have that much faith in him.
Aaron Rodgers | 90 OVR | Green Bay Packers | QB
No way in the world i see this dude finishing lower then his start. Its the lowest rating out of the gate i can remember for A-Rodge in forever. He will exceed this overall start even if his team struggles this season. It won't be on Rodgers if this team faulters this season. And he will make sure everyone knows it isn't his fault. End of season overall 94
Todd Gurley II | 97 | Los Angeles Rams | RB
No way Gurley finishes this high. Between the injuries he's coming into the season with and the depth they have added behind him i just don't see it. The #Rams are starting to get ready for life with a lesser Gurley and the rest of the NFL sees it. Not saying Gurley can't have a nice season but degenerative knees don't just get better. End of season overall 88
Greg Olsen | 89 | Carolina Panthers | TE
Old beaten down and id even say checked out in many ways. Olsen has had a rough couple of seasons and has not been shy about trying to figure out a life in broadcasting after his NFL career is over. I personally think this #Panthers team is a dark horse and could surprise everyone or be blowing it all up by seasons end. Im not sure theyre as bad as they finished last season but it happened and its a real thing. For a team and a player that started off as hot as they did to finish as bad as they both respectively did does not reflect well on either. And Olsen is facing father time. Thats a battle nobody wins. End of season overall 81
