BudHole Madden Franchise

A couple weeks ago we started something we've been talking about since before Madden 20 even came out... the group Madden franchise! After multiple times rescheduling, we finally sat down for a few hours and did our draft. Here is how it worked.

To start, we decided on our teams back around August and had a few stipulations. We decided that two teams would play in the NFC and two in the AFC, also we had to pick teams in the same division. This allowed us to maximize the amount we play each other, along with use having the potential to have a User v. User Super Bowl matchup. This post a bit belated, so we are currently through 12 weeks, but here are where we all stand currently.

Star Lamar

Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Record: 8-4

Games v Users: Brandon 2 (0-1), Scott 0, GagesRage 0

Notable Players:

Lamar Jackson

Tyrann Mathieu

Marshon Lattimore

Bradley Chubb

Minka Fitzpatrick

Star got off to a rough start at the beginning of the season but has bounced back and currently sits as the 6th seed in the playoffs. Outside of Lamar Jackson, his offense... Well theres nothing notable on his offense outside of Lamar. He played Brandon this past week and held his own for a while, but said he was using the regular season games as scouting for when he faces him in the playoffs. Brandon beat him 55-36 dropping Star to 8-5 on the season.

Lamar Jackson has been his sole piece on the offense, with nearly 2400 pass yards, 24 tds, and 14 ints. As a running back, he has nearly 1300 yards, 13 tds, but 16 fumbles 😬. Him and Brandon play again week 17.

Brandon

Team: Atlanta Falcons

Record: 11-0

Games v Users: Star 2 (1-0), Scott 0, GagesRage 0

Notable Players:

Russell Wilson

Bobby Wagner

Mecole Hardman

Matt Breida

Telvin Smith

Brandon was off to a hot start, but has tamed back slightly in recent weeks. Through the few games, he was averaging over 60 ppg and putting up great yardage with his players. Led by Wilson and a strong supporting cast, he's been undefeated so far this year and is the frontrunner to make the Super Bowl for the NFC.

As things stand, Wilson leads the league in passing with nearly 4500 yards, 54 tds, 10 ints and an additional 442 yards on the ground with 13 tds. This has been spread out somewhat amongst the players, but the bulk has gone to Mecole Hardman. He has 93 grabs, 2400 yards and 24 tds (all 2nd in the NFL right now). He hasn't been a slouch on the gorund either, Matt Breida has put up 1700 yards (9.3 avg) and 13 TDs.

GagesRage

Team: LA Chargers

Record: 3-8

Games v Users: Scott 2 (0-1), Star 0, Brandon 0

Notable Players:

CmC

Andy Isabella

Austin Hooper

Desmond King

Adrian Amos

In the words of GagesRage "I am not focused on this year, but the 5 year plan is where my mind is". Well that is great because this year is trash besides on key piece, Andy Isabella. You would think CmC, but he seems to have forgotten that he is on his team. Gage recently play Scott for their first head to head matchup and a slaughter is putting it nicely. Scott boasted 94 points, while being nice 🤢.

That loss eliminated him from playoff contention.

Since his season is over, his sole focus is stats. For Isabella that is. Pretty sure he doesn't think he has other players on his team... He recenlty traded Cam at the deadline, so he's currently rocking RG3 (his stats don't matter). CmC has had a piss poor year, sitting at 371 on the ground with 2 tds and 41 grabs, 564 yards and 5 TDs through the air. His self proclaimed star, Isabella, has 101 rec, 2871 yards and 26 TDs, all league leading! So there's that.

Scott

Team: Oakland Raiders

Record: 11-0

Games v Users: GagesRage 2 (1-0), Brandon 0, Star 0

Notable Players:

Kyler Murray

Jamal Adams

Danielle Hunter

Terry McLaurin

Ed Oliver

Scott has played a quiet game until recently, where his team seems to be picking up steam. With the AFC OROY on the line (vs Isabella) he has been focusing mostly on Murray and his stats. However, his team is very balanced and he knows how to play. 94 points put up on Gager in 6 min quarters shows he can best utilize his time and he has big play potential. He is undefeated and doesn't show any signs of slowing down, making him the frontrunner in the AFC to make the Super Bowl.

Murray may be little but his stats are big. 4000 yards, 55 tds and only 8 ints, along with 510 yards on the ground and 3 tds. He's giving Wilson a run for his money. Heres been extremely balanced in who that ball is going to. John Ross 53-1400-17, McLaurin 70-1100-16, and Everett 56-773-11. 3 big playmakers are going to be a force in the playoffs.

Conclusion

We will do another update at the end of the season. Be sure to check out the pre-game press conferences each coach does before a head to head matchup! Each user comes up with a few questions to guage where the other players are at. You can find them here!

Thanks,

-BudHole
